Although detailed plans for the SOP Business Management team are available to SOP faculty/staff at any time, they are not yet ready to be downloaded to this site. Please stay tuned and check the site for any updates to our departmental projects and plans. In the meantime, here are the core goals that explain what we hope to accomplish over the next few months: Inform, Communicate, Educate — Arrange and provide training for all SOP staff, implement Forum for questions and answers and FAQs for routine information, implement on-line grants/contracts rules system, structure financial information by each division and provide divisional accesses for all financial and HR systems Design in Responsiveness/Ease of Use — Implement new means of more efficient communications such as Instant Messaging, improve responsiveness through Help ticket creation and monitoring system, develop better system accesses, publish performance metrics Data Integrity and Currency — Enable automated daily and monthly downloads from the campus systems to SOP systems, ensure regular data updates from HR and sponsored research transactions, and reconcile various data elements on a scheduled basis Design, Document, and Streamline Processes — Document major processes and define organizational roles and responsibilities, start streamlining processes, and develop processes for annual budget preparations |
